Bridging the Bayous Timebank consists of a vibrant group of people working together, creating caring and supportive social networks by exchanging services with people within the community. 

Here is how it works:

For every hour you spend helping someone in your community, you earn one Timecredit.  This Timecredit can then be spent on having another member do something you need done or would like to learn to do.  It's that simple!

New Members:

Please edit your account information before posting any offers or requests and become familiar with how the software works.  Information on how to do this is found below:

Once you are logged in, a search box will allow you to quickly look for posts, requests, members, etc. 
On the right side of the search box are the following tabs:

  1. Help:
    • Allows you to get answers to commonly asked questions
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  2. Notices:
    • Allows you to read any member only news that have been posted
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  3. Sponsors:
    • Lets you know about local businesses that support us, and offers you might benefit from!
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  4. Logout:
    • Click on this button when leaving Bridging the Bayous Timebank website.
Please also note the following tabs found under the search box:
  1.  Home:  
    • This is where you can post your requests and view the offers/requests from other members. 
    • New members will also be welcomed
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  2. Hours:
    • This is where the receiver of the services records the hours provided to them, the date the service was performed, and the type of service given to them.  Any comments on the work that was provided can also be made.
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  3. Account:  (has several tabs on this page as well)
    • First 4 tabs: allow you to view all of the requests or offers you have made, or allows you to make a request or offer.
    • Profile tab: 
      • all yellow blanks need to be filled in.  
      • Click on the green section next to "Active Member?" to make sure the green area says YES. 
      • Select your language preference
      • If you wish to receive weekly updates on offers/request make sure to click on the green area next to "Send Weekly Updates?" until it says YES.  To stop the weekly updates, click on the green area until it reads NO.
      • Intertrading is defaulted to NO and cannot be changed. 
      • Don't forget to hit SAVE at the bottom of the page to save all changes made!
      • Your Bridging the Bayous ID card can be printed by clicking on the Print Your Member ID Card button.
      • Your account password can be changed on this section.
      • If you have a question about anything, you can contact the Timebank Coordinator through email by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.
    • Contact tab:
      • add your phone number, click SAVE and it is recommended to keep your phone number private by making sure YES is written in the green section.  If you wish to make your phone number available to the rest of the members, click to change the wording to NO.
      • add your email, click SAVE, and it is recommended to keep your email private by making sure YES is written in the green section.  If you wish to make your email public to the rest of the members, click to change the wording to NO.
      • add your address, click SAVE, and it is recommended to keep your address private by making sure Yes is written under the Pivate Y/N? section.
      • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
    • My Password tab:
      • A new password can be generated on this tab, dont forget to click SAVE!
      • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
    • My Statement tab:
      • Your statement shows the number of hours you provided to others, the number of hours you have earned, and the current balance of hours you have to request a service from someone else.  Statements can be printed and sorted as needed.
      • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
    • My Attributes tab:
      • Please fill in the information requested on this tab as it can help us when applying for grant funding to keep Bridging the Bayous Timebank free to its members!
      • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  4. Offers: 
    • Allows you to search for offers being made in a certain category
    • Allows you to edit the offer you made
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  5. Requests:
    • Allows you to search for requests being made in a certain category
    • Allows you to edit the requests you made
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  6. Members:
    • Allows you to view all of the members of Bridging the Bayous Timebank
    • Allows you to sort through Bridging the Timebank membership to see who lives within a certain mile radius from your home
    • Allows you to sort through Bridging the Bayous membership to view the businesses/organizations that are participating.
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.
  7. Group:
    • Allows members to email or post announcements to other members of a certain group
    • Allows you to create a new group, project or event (Each must be approved by Timebank Coordinator first).
    • Allows you to join a group, project or event
    • Any questions can be emailed to the coordinator by clicking on the button at the bottom section of the page.

hOurworld Mobile Time Banking We believe in Open Innovation! We implement the best ideas of our members and coordinators. This broad based co-production model of networking and development affords us all the best tools for sustaining our local communities!


We believe in removing ALL the barriers to time banking that we can. Access to the hOurworld platform is FREE. It is easy for new members to join and learn, and easy for coordinators to manage and report on their members and activity.

We believe in supporting local diversity while maintaining a central cooperative organization to provide accessible support, training, and communications. We are documenting and teaching these models.

We believe that every member have control over their own privacy and content. We operate on private secure servers and HIPPA compliant data centers where all information is encrypted before going out on the internet.

We believe that time banking is one spoke in a wheel of Movements Moving Together. We foster local community organizations drawing together to create powerful local economies as they integrate CSA, Food Co-op, Buy Local, Transition Town, BALLE, CAP and others. The opportunities are endless!
