Is there some little thing you do that you enjoy and are good at? Well Troy Shares will match you up to the people who value that skill, who will pay you Troy Shares hours for doing that thing that you enjoy doing. That has been the best thing for me, finding that the things that I just do naturally, because that's what I like to do, are things that can be useful to other people and are valued by other people.
People will pay you Troy Shares hours for doing things you love to do, and then you can spend those Troy Shares hours on finding someone who loves to do that chore that you hate to do.
The goal of Troy Shares is that when we pool our efforts instead of going it alone, everyone's gifts will be appreciated, everyone's needs will be met, and in the process, the bonds of community will be strengthened.
Would you like to join or learn more? Come to one of our orientations. The next Troy Shares orientation will take place Saturday, March 12, 1:00-2:30pm, at Christ Church, 35 State Street, in Troy. To be notified about future orientations, you can follow our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/troyshares?ref=br_tf or contact us at 518-308-8247 or email@example.com to be added to the email list for orientation announcements.
At orientation we will provide an overview of how Troy Shares works and we'll answer any questions you may have. If you choose to join, you'll need to sign our release form, which basically says that you understand that TroyShares cannot guarantee any service, that arrangements for exchanges are between the individuals and are not brokered or monitored by TroyShares, that they do not constitute contracts, etc. The legalese both protects the overall group and makes some points that everyone should understand about how things work.
When you join, you will be given some hours to start off with, and will be able to use the time bank application to record your offers and requests, to see offers and requests of other members, and to record exchanges when you receive services.
