The UVCE is a primarily volunteer led organization located in the northern Connecticut River Valley region of Vermont and New Hamphsire. Our mission is to provide a framework for strengthening community and local economy through efficient, effective, and reliable service exchanges.

Our organization was founded in 2011 on the concept of time banking. A time bank is an online database in which service exchanges amongst community members are recorded in "hours." 

We view time as simply another measurement of energy. As the philosopher Alan Watts once said, "Time is a measurement of energy, a measurement of motion."

Let us spend our time moving together!
