Tay Valley Timebank (Est 2017) is the Community Timebank based in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, Scotland. We bring people together to help each other, exchanging interests, skills and services.

Timebanks encourage people to swap skills and talents and favours.  For every hour you spend doing something for or with another member, you earn a Time Credit.

This is banked and you can see in your account how many Time Credits you have.  All time is valued equally.  Spend your Time Credits when you want something.  Just ask the brokers.  

You can go into debt as we have a community pot with donated hours which is for the use of the community so you can ask for help from your first day as a member.

If you want to, you too can donate some of your hours to help others.  

Timebanking offers real flexibility.  You don't have to commit to regular days or hours.  There is no cash involved unless it's to cover expenses (for example ingredients).  

The only cost is your time.

  • This site allows you to view exchanges and requests posted by Tay Valley Timebank members.  
  • You can also post offers and ask for things too.  Bear in mind however that just because something is not on offer here, it doesn't mean we can't find it for you.  Get in touch with the brokers and ask.  
  • You can also look at your own account and keep up to date with how many Time Credits you have.  It's very easy, just a click. You can watch a YouTube video showing you how to do this by clicking here.
  • You can also join a group, or set one up and invite members, and you can speak to other members using the message board.  
  • If you don't have regular access the internet don't worry.  The brokers will be more than happy to find exchanges for you and keep the information up to date.  Just get in touch with them
  • If you know of anyone who would like to join, please encourage them to get in touch.   

We have an informal drop in every Friday. These are held in the cafe at the Birks Cinema (10:00 am) in Aberfeldy.
