If you have any questions or feedback for us we'd love to hear your thoughts!
The Forest Reciprocity Exchange is here to facilitate and promote forest health work on private lands in Lake and Mendocino Counties, CA. Our desire is to help to build regional networks of neighbors helping neighbors, connecting you with the information you need to hire and share resources.
A service exchange or time bank is a network of individual, organizational and business 'members' that provide services, track and bank their hours and then spend those hours to get their own needs met. A service exchange is NOT a barter network, since nothing is 'exchanged'. One 'member' provides a friendly, neighborly favor to another and records the time they spent doing so.
We invite you to join us on this mission to thin small diameter trees out of overburdened forests, reduce forest fuel loads and risk of catastrophic fire, stabilize watersheds, promote diverse habitats, and to activate long-term carbon sequestration. Our aim is to make small diameter poles available (an abundant by-product of forest restoration) and to popularize their use as a superior building material.
